Joe Scarola has recently joined Hawaii Luxury Yachts and has been appointed as the Captain and Yacht Sales Representative. His intricate knowledge of Sailboats, Motor Boats, and Yachts launches his platform to share data and skills required to master a Yacht and go through the sales process with his clients. He also enjoys being the Captain on select Yacht tours and Charters in Hawaii under the management of Hawaii Luxury Yachts.
Joe Scarola carries strong credentials. He is currently a sailing instructor on Hawaiʻi Island and serves as Vice Commodore of the Kona Sailing Club at the Honokohau Harbor in Kailua-Kona and holds a Commercial Captain license. As a level 1 sailing instructor, his main focus is getting youth out onto the water, to appreciate the beauty of the island and the ocean, and learn skills to navigate through the surrounding waters as well as through life.
Joe is originally from New York City, where he grew up in a “big happy family of restaurateurs.” He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and was voted “most likely to succeed” in his class. Joe has worked in both private and corporate worlds on the East Coast, balancing multi-million dollar budgets on monthly profit and loss statements, reinvesting profits, and working as a liaison between his clients and corporate customers.
Later he shifted his vision and traveled the U.S. as a WOOFer (World Wide Organization of Organic Farmers), and attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a nutritionist and certified health coach. He is also certified as a yoga instructor, he holds current first aid and CPR training certificates, as well as being Safe Sport trained as a mandatory reporter.
Joe lives in Kona Palisades and has two children and is the proud grandfather of Ella Joy! You can often find Joe on a sailboat teaching sailing or leading the competition racing in Honokohou Harbor.
