Captain Herb has saltwater in his veins. I was born in Washington, D.C., but raised in the
shadow of Annapolis, my childhood was bound to the rhythm of the tides. My grandparents & marina was a second home, its docks a kingdom. At ten, I painted the bottoms of boats, not as a chore, but as a reason to linger by the water. Any excuse would do—to row, to fish, to feel the salt air against my face. The water was not just a place—it was a presence, a call I could never ignore.
School beckoned, but the sea called louder. Instead of a classroom, I chose the Navy, where the vastness of the Pacific became my tutor and inspiration. As a USCG Master Captain and U.S. Navy veteran (USS Midway CV-41, Yokosuka, Japan), I have logged 6,500+ hours at sea, navigating waters from Japan to the Gulf Coast and both U.S. seaboards. I piloted everything from powerboats to sailboats up to 200 feet.
For 20 years my path wound through New York City and San Francisco as I built a career
in business development.  I worked with HBO, Argent Trading, SNL, Thomson Reuters,  and astring of startups and I kept my love of boating to weekends—an escape from the corporate grind.
I made a choice to move to Hawaii surrounded by water as my daily companion. I love being a Captain, a Yacht Broker and a Lender in Hawaii. I have access to outstanding vessel financing.
If you are looking to buy a boat and I can steer you in the right direction. Call me. Nothing makes me happier than to share my knowledge with fellow boating enthusiasts.
